The most satisfying part of clay hand-building is often during the magical moment where the clay is not quite wet, or dry… we call this stage “Leatherhard”. Often clay workshops miss this perfect moment, because the pieces are sitting at the studio drying to get ready for the kiln.

Our Carving Experience Series aims to capture this leatherhard stage, by offering two-day workshops where you make with clay on the first day, leave your piece to partially dry overnight, then come back the next day to experience the satisfaction of carving into clay!
